I learned that Winnipeg Harvest is a big help for many people especially young children  all around Canada. In Winnipeg Harvest, many people donated goods and basic nutrition kits and every month 56 000 people use Winnipeg Harvest. Many food banks were connected to Winnipeg Harvest. Winnipeg Harvest works with other food banks in Canada and 80 child care agencies. Also if Winnipeg Harvest stopped receiving donations it would be out of food within a week. Many people volunteered to help on packaging the donations they have.

Winnipeg Harvest help many people throughout Canada. About 56 000 people get food from Winnipeg Harvest every month. They also gives out 5 500 Basic Nutrition Kits with the food they packaged. Winnipeg Harvest receives donations everyday and it's very important because if they stopped receiving, they would be out in a week. They have to receive donations everyday.

When you volunteered what do you remember about your job?
When I volunteered in Winnipeg Harvest, what I remembered was how much food they had in their warehouse that they sort on what kind the item is and package them. They have lots of supply of different kinds of food in the warehouse. We volunteered to work on cleaning some bins that was used for recycling foods and sorting different kinds of food like pasta, rice and cereals. Its pretty hard cleaning the bins and those bins are big. Working in Winnipeg Harvest is really hard if not enough volunteers work. Winnipeg Harvest is really a big help to many people in Canada and it's worth it to work and help them work even though its a lot of work to do. I think I would volunteer again next time.

A Basic Nutrition Kit is a kit that contains items from all the food groups like canned fruits. In one week, Winnipeg Harvest gives out 5, 500 Basic Nutrition Kits.

Winnipeg Harvest gets their food they supply from donations, supermarkets like Superstore, Sobey's and from bakeries. Winnipeg Harvest also have donation bins at these supermarkets. 5.When you volunteered what do you remember about you job?
When I volunteered, I remember seeing all the food they had in their warehouse. When Kurt said that if they didn't receive any donations, that they could run out of food in a week, I thought to myself, "How can they, they have so much food here." Our first job at the warehouse was cleaning donation bins. That was kinda easy job because I clean the dishes at home everyday. When we were cleaning it was kinda gross because sometimes there were gross things in the bins and they didn't come off at first. After we finished cleaning the bins, we went to sort pasta. We went to the otherside of the factory and he gave us boxes to sort pasta into different shapes, type like wheat or plain and depending how they were packaged. After we finished working, I was really happy helping them out and I learned new things about Winnipeg Harvest that I never knew about.

When you volunteered what do you remember about your job?
When I volunteered in the Winnipeg Harvest I remembered looking at how much things they have in the warehouse. It was shocking that they also have things other than food like toothbrush, soaps and many more. In the warehouse we volunteered, by cleaning compost bins that would be used for trying to recycle most leftovers, although cleaning them was very hard with all the dirt on it. We also sorted pastas, rice packages and cereals. While we sort through them there were lots of pastas that was very hard to identify, one pasta I saw were pasta shells that were actual shaped shells. We really had a great time and I hope lots of people donate so they could help more people.

I learned how important Winnipeg Harvest is to many people and how big the part it plays in the community. To think, without Winnipeg Harvest many people would be left to starve, and without the countless and generous donations they receive, Winnipeg Harvest would be out of food within a week. Almost none of the donations are wasted. When they come across something they can not send or use they try to compose waste material and most of the leftovers, even sending some unusable bread to be sent to feed animals, such as horses.

2.Who does Winnipeg Harvest Help?

Winnipeg Harvest helps anyone who is in need of food. On average, 56 000 people use Winnipeg Harvest every month. Sad to say, half of the people are under the age of 18. While on my tour I could tell that the clients are very grateful to them when I saw a few lending the Harvest a hand. Behind each client is their story. Each have a reason for not having the money for food. Some being the need for medical attention, but do not have the money for both. Whatever it is Winnipeg Harvest will care to their needs the best they can, even making sure you get the nutrition you need through the basic nutrition kits.

3.Where does Winnipeg Harvest get the food it supplies to its users?
Winnipeg Harvest gets the food they supply from many generous agencies. Even the trucks they use were kindly given to them to help with the relocation of food. Many stores, other food banks, businesses companies and schools across the province help Winnipeg Harvest. Some examples being Sobey's, Superstore, Safeway, and of course, donations from the public. You may also find bins at Superstore and Safeway to drop off donations.

The top ten items needed in Winnipeg Harvest are:

5. When you volunteered what do you remember about your job?

What I definitely remember the most was the vast amount of food they had. While touring I saw countless piles of pasta, bread, cereal and pretty much anything else you could imagine. Afterward I remember having to wash a bunch of bins. It was a bit gross, (especially the last bin I had to wash), and I almost fell into them countless times, but it was a great experience. I was glad to be of some help, and I'm sure they really appreciated it. While moving around the warehouse I found that the volunteers were really close to each other. Seeing them talk and joking around, and it was truly very heartwarming to see. Next was pasta sorting. It was not as easy as I had once thought. There were so many varieties of pasta, some that I've never heard of. I had a hard time deciding where I would place some, and just when I think I get it, I find a new kind of pasta. Luckily, I was assigned to label boxes instead. Our teamwork was great, and we managed to fill quite a few boxes. I really learned a lot from this trip to Winnipeg Harvest, and I was really happy to have come.

-When I volunteered, we washed out bins so food could be taken to the places it needed to be. Sure it was wet and messy and I might have fallen into one of the bins, but it was fun. We also sorted pasta. This is a lot harder than it looks. There were thousands of different types of pastas, and it took a lot of effort and cooperation, but in the end, it too, was fun and worthwhile. Every job in Winnipeg Harvest has a reason and an important role, and I was glad to help out.

You can easily fill in this chart by simply asking yourself what multiplied by what equals the volume or creating an algebraic equation for each one. For example: a) 7x2=14, so 14xa=70m3, you replace the variable (a) with the number that best suits that equation which is 5. So thats how I figured out question 11.

Laura, an office manager, has purchased a carton that is 300 cm × 400 cm × 600 cm to store 9000 boxes of files. Each box has dimensions 30 cm × 26 cm × 10 cm. Calculate whether all of the files will fit in the carton.
Yes it is enough, 1 carton can hold all files.
The volume of the carton is 72 000 000cm³.

7800cm³
The volume of 1 box is 7800cm³, we need 9000 so multiply by the amount.
7800cm³ x 9000 = 70 200 000cm³
