Trisha's Great Big Book of Integers

Chapter 1 Grade 7 Integers Review

(+4) + (-4) = 0

Zero Pairs a pair of number with a positive and negative sign whose sum is zero. (+,-)
eg.

-6 and +6
-16 and +16
+10 and -10
63 and -63

*If a number doesn't have a sign, it's positive.

Chapter 2 Grade 8 Integers

(+4) + (-4)
+4 -4
4 -4 <--- Standard Form * Brackets are like training wheel, once you've learned how to do it you don't need them anymore. -6+2=-4 -6-2=-8 -6+10=+4 Chapter 3: Dividing Intergers Partitve Division: how many groups of 2 are in 6?

Eg.

-2 -2 -2
<-- <-- <--
------------
0 6

Quotitive Division: Sharing

It splitting each other equally.

Eg.
There are 5 people and 8 slices of pizza,
how much do each person get?

Multiplication Interverse:

Eg. -6 / -2 = -3
It just reverse.
-3 / -2 = -6

Sign Rule

Even = when you have an even number of negitive factors the product is postive.

Odd = when you have an odd number of negitive factors the product is negitive.

Chapter 4: Order of Opperations with Intergers

Remember BEDMAS?

What's BEDMAS?

Using the BEDMAS.

(+5) x (-3) + (-6) / (+3) =

division is first, in order of BEDMAS.

(+5) x (-3) + [(-6) / (+3)]

-6 / +3 = -2

* Don't forget the sign rule (:

(+5) x (-3) + (-2) =
Multiple next.

[(+5) x (-3)] = -15

(-15) + (-2) = +17
