Hello, my name is Vincent and I study grade 8 math and other subjects. When someone asks me if I like math, I'll answer that question with a yes and no. This is my answer because I'm not the best math student in the world but I try to get better everyday. My other answer to that question is that sometimes, I actually dislike math, honestly. For me, I sometimes get frustrated in math but thats because I don't understand it and I don't ask questions. One of the best things I did in math class was learning about a Cartesian Plane or Coordinate Grid. I enjoyed this event because it seemed like something very simple and it was kinda simple.
Last year, Integers was the unit I studied the best because it was kinda straight-forward for me. I like how we represented positives and negatives with colours. The unit that made me struggle the most was learning how to make numbers into fractions, decimals and percents. This was hard for me because I never understood it no matter how much Mr.Isfeld explained it and I never had a working calculator when I needed one. This year, I can improve that by asking more questions if I'm puzzled and by getting a calculator that actually works.
This year for Math, I want to improve by listening more in class, asking more questions and study what we did that day that night to understand it more. This year, I want to learn about mean, mode and median. I would also like to re-learn how to make numbers into fractions, decimals and percents.
My favourite blog from last year was about pi, even though it was short blog. Blogging helped me alot as a student because it helped me learn how to do the work that we did that day better because it was right on the internet instead of waiting the next day to ask Mr.Isfeld how to do it especially if we had homework that was due. On the computer during math class, I want to find good math sites that'll help if I don't know how to do something or if the blog can't help me and maybe even play some fun math games.
Vincent, good job on your post! It is a good thing that you are trying hard to improve on your math skills!
ReplyDeleteGood job, Vincent. It's nice hear that you have confidence to become better in math. If you study more, there will be a chance that you can get a good mark.
ReplyDeleteGreat job Vincent, I like the link you had and how you explained clearly that blogging helps you for what reason. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteInteresting profile vincent, I Liked that you are very honest on how you dislike math and told us why.I also noticed that you would like improve on your math skils , well done and i hope you improve.
ReplyDeleteNice job Vincent. I agree that math can get frustrating because it is hard to understand. But asking questions can really help you out. Hope to seeing more of your posts.
ReplyDeleteGood job, Vincent! I liked that you took the time to make your post the best it can be. I enjoyed reading any bit of it. Good job!
ReplyDeleteInteresting profile Vincent! I agree with you that math can sometimes be frustrating. You just have to try your best understanding it. Good job by the way!!
ReplyDeleteGreat profile Vincent! I get annoyed with math too sometimes, especially when everyone else is understanding something and I am the only one who doesn't understand. You had great goals on how to be a better student this year, I hope you can achieve them!
ReplyDeleteGood Job Vinny! your post is very interesting and i agree with you that math can be really frustrating sometimes ;D
ReplyDeleteGreat job, Vincent! Your post was great and told you about the things you liked and disliked about math. However, there were a few problems with your post... first of all, you said "even though it was short blog"- you should always check your grammar. Second, "alot" is "a lot".
ReplyDeleteAnd lastly, I thought the sudoku puzzles from Mr. Marquardson were the best things you did in a math class. Apparently, I was wrong. Oh well. Great post anyways.
Good job.
