Paul's Math Profile

Hi I'm Paul and I'm a math student from grade 8. If someone were to ask me if I like math I would say kind of because I'm not really the person who's best at figuring the answers to math problems. In the other hand I know math is important to me because it applies to my everyday life. One of the best things I did in a math class was integers, in grade 7 i had to compare the integers with a thermometer temperature and this is one of the math examples that i know for sure that affects everyday life.

Last year in grade 7 I really liked our unit on Integers. We used color to determine the difference between positive and negative integers. Red chip mean positive and blue chip means negative, red means hot so its positive and blue means cold so it means negative. I really struggled on converting the fraction to decimal and percent. I would listen to more to the examples to do better this year.

This year in grade 8 I would listen carefully and try to look at my math notes daily. This year I would like to learn something new. In my case I'm really having trouble about angles and formulas so I would still want to review over some things I learned last year.

I was a blogger last year and my favourite blog is about range and outliers. Blogging helped me a lot last year because I comment on the blogs that other students made and get to read or refresh my mind on what we did that day. I also enjoyed it because I could actually use the computer and learn something like finding videos , pictures and websites for my blog to help others students. This year in math class I would like to learn things by playing games on the computer.

  3. Good job Paul. I agree with you that math is in our lives, but can you give me an example? But I heard something like what you said on a show, "without math, we are cavemen eating mud". Paul congratulations on being the first to post and good luck with other posts.
