Arun's Term 2 reflection

Term 2 Reflection

This term I will try doing my blog work faster and comment on more posts. This term we learned about finding the surface area of Rectangular Prisms, Cubes, Circular prisms, and Triangular prisms. I learned how to calculate the TSA (Total Surface Area) of shapes and use them in math problems.
Ex: Find the area of a Rectangular prism with a base of 5cm, a height of 5cm, and a length of 10 cm.

A= b x h x l (formula)
A= 5 x 5 x 10 = 250cm2
A= 250cm2

The area of this rectangular prism is 250cm2.

Find the area of a triangular prism with a height of 5cm, a base of 5cm, and a length off 10cm.

A= b x h / 2 x l0 (formula)
A= 5 x 5/ 2 = 12.5cm2
A= 12.5cm2 x 10cm2 = 125cm2
A = 125cm2

The area of this Triangular prism is 125cm2.

Find the area of a circular prism with a diameter or 5cm, and a height of 10cm.

A= D/ 2
A= 5/2 = 2.5cm2
A= 3.14 x 2.5 = 7.85cm2
A= 7.85cm2 x 10 cm2 = 78.5cm2

The area of this circular prism is 78.5cm2.

These are some example of what we learned in term 2 on how to find the area of prisms. We also learned about the different views of 3d shapes. We were able to find the area of 3d shapes using Isometric dot paper. I thought it was fun because we could make any 3d shape using this paper. It was an easy unit for me and I enjoyed it. This term I did an okay job but I could have done better. This is my goal for term 3 and I will achieve it by doing all of my homework and doing all my blog work. (Posts, Comments, Videos, etc.)
